Pipa was one of our most loved chapters in 2024, and 2026 somehow topped it. So yes, we are going back for two more months. Expect jungle at the door, Carnival in month one, a kitchen that gets used every night, and a crew that makes leaving difficult.

Carnival weekend · Olinda, Pernambuco
Our first month in Pipa (15 January — 15 February 2027) lands right on top of Carnival. So we're taking a van full of you five hours up the coast to Olinda, the one Brazilians actually tell you to go to.
Four-metre-tall puppets, frevo in the cobbled streets, and zero tickets to buy. Everything sorted, and back in Pipa in time to recover by the pool.

Olinda's carnival has been running the same way since the 1600s: giant puppets, frevo brass bands, and a parade route through the same painted colonial streets every year.
It's still mostly locals. No stadium, no ticket booth, no VIP section — just a hillside town that opens its doors for four days. This is the one Brazilians go to.

Private van, door to door. Pipa → Olinda and back. No bus stations, no 4am connections.
